Disneyland Ticket Prices - the Most Important Detail You Should Know About

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Do you know what the most important piece of information you should have when planning for a trip to Disneyland? It's common knowledge to always estimate a budget. If you've been to the park before, you'll know that one of the most expensive purchases you'll ever have to make is for admission. Because of this, you have to know the specific Disneyland ticket prices. However, before proceeding with this, you should know what kind of ticket you're going to get.

Within the Disney parks, there are various kinds of entrance passes. The first one would be the one day pass. Unfortunately, even if this is the cheapest, this will only give you access to one park. We all know that for every Disney theme park, there are different sub parks. If you have this type of pass, you'll only be limited on part of the entire park.

The next type of ticket would be the Park Hopper passes. These will enable you to visit two Disney parks. Unlike the one day pass, this Park Hopper pass can come in several days-the one day to six day passes. Of course, the price will depend on how many days the park hopping privilege lasts. As common sense dictates, getting a six day pass can cost you quite a lot. However, it's a pretty good investment, especially if you're staying around the park for a couple of days.

Next on the list are the annual passes. These contain special coupons and discounts that can be used by visitors inside the park premises. There are a couple of them available for tourists. Although this is convenient for tourists, these are only practical for those living in Southern California. There are corresponding rates for each one of these. If you're planning a trip to the park, you should be familiarized with the different Disneyland ticket prices.

Alamo Car Rental - Focus on Vacationers

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Alamo Car Rental is a popular car rental company based in the U.S. The name would suggest that it started long ago in Texas but that's not the case. Alamo got its start in the mid 70s with all of the company's locations in Florida. Alamo Car Rental has revolutionized the car rental industry. Here is an overview of the company and why it has become so popular.

Alamo Car Rental started off fairly small and faced the competition of many established car rental companies. The company was the first rental agency to focus on vacationers and not the business travel market. Before its start, most renters were business people and most families flew to their destination or drove their family car. Alamo promoted car rental as an alternative to the high cost of flying or putting wear on the family car.

As a way to promote their new marketing strategy, Alamo was the first rental company to offer unlimited mileage. Now families could drive cross state without the worry of paying per mile. This was a new concept since most renters would just use their car in town. Their strategy worked and Alamo Car Rental quickly grew and by the early 80's the company was building large facilities in major tourist cities across Florida.

Over the years Alamo Car Rental has grown and has locations at major and most minor airports in the U.S. They also operate (sometimes under different names) in many cities worldwide. They have partnered with many major vacation and travel organizations including cruise companies and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Alamo Car Rental was also the first company to give customers the ability to complete a rental contract via the internet. Many companies followed their lead and now most rental companies offer contracts via the internet. The company continues to find more ways to use technology to make renting a car easier such as automated check-in and speedy car return.

Alamo Car Rental has revolutionized the car rental industry and continues to focus its attention on the vacation customer. They offer a number of specials in vacation destinations and offer many options for family size cars. Alamo is also partnered with many airlines to offer discounts as well as frequent flyer accrual. This is in addition to other discounts such as AAA and senior discounts.

The next time you need a car rental, consider Alamo Car Rental. They have revolutionized the car rental industry and continue to offer leisure travel customers great value for their money. Visit their website or call their reservations to get a quote and reserve your rental.

5 Ways To Get Cheap Disneyland Tickets

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Going to Disneyland can be an incredibly expensive trip for the family, especially when you factor in admission tickets, accommodation, food, souvenirs and other essential expenses for the typical vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth. To help alleviate your financial worries, here are the top 5 ways to get cheap Disneyland tickets.

Consider staying at one of the Disneyland hotels. Although they can be more costly over other hotels within Anaheim, the package deals (which includes single and multiple day hopper passes to both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure) will save you a lot of money. Staying at these hotels will also greatly improve your vacation thanks to it's easy accessibility to the parks.
Pre-purchase your tickets on the official Disneyland website. You'll save up to $40 off tickets when you buy 8 days prior to your planned date.
If you plan on visiting other theme parks within the area (such as Knotts Berry Farm and Sea World), purchase a Southern California City Pass. In addition to a three-day pass to Disneyland, you also get tickets to Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World and San Diego Zoo.
If you are visiting with someone that has a military affiliation or background, you'll be able to enjoy huge discounts on Disneyland tickets.
Browse around on the internet. There are always people that sell their unused or unwanted passes and are almost always willing to give it away for next to nothing. It is a great way to acquire discount Disneyland tickets, especially if you look in the right places such as forums and auction sites.

A World Tour Using Disney World Tickets

You can spend one day at each of the four Disney parks, or you can stay for ten days and buy "park hopper" Disney World tickets to move freely between parks for the entire duration of your stay. There are various options for your Disney vacation, but the first step to planning your trip is deciding upon a budget and examining what each Disney World park has to offer!

For starters, you'll want to buy tickets for the Magic Kingdom which is comprised of several distinct lands: Main Street USA, Mickey's Toon Town Fair, Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Liberty Square. Magic Kingdom was the first of the Disney parks that opened in 1971.

You'll know it by Cinderella's breathtaking castle, which makes for an ideal tourist photo spot. Adventureland takes you from pirate ships on the Caribbean seas to jungle cruises down the Amazon.

Frontierland takes you back to the Wild West, into saloons and on train rides. Liberty Square brings you the famous Haunted Mansion and Hall of Presidents attractions. Toon Town Fair has attractions for young children, as does Fantasyland, which is set up like a medieval carnival fair mostly geared toward children who love Peter Pan, Dumbo and Snow White. Tomorrowland is an intergalactic convention center with some rides geared toward thrill-seekers.

"The World you have entered was created by The Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to Hollywood, not the place on the map, but a state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine a place where illusion and reality are fused by technological magic. We welcome you to a Hollywood that never was-and always will be," said entertainment executive Michael Eisner. Disney MGM Studios has recently been renamed Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Your Hollywood Studios tickets will be worth the money for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Backlot Tour and Great Movie Ride, but there are six themed areas to explore. You can experience rides and shows themed around Star Wars, Indiana Jones, the Muppets, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Beauty and the Beast and more. For rollercoaster and thrill ride enthusiasts, don't miss the Tower of Terror or Aerosmith's Rock N Rollercoaster!

The Disney Animal Kingdom is the newest park, which opened in 1998. This 500-acre conservation park houses many animals that meander freely behind well-covered boundaries.

You can see wallabies, antelope, monkeys, hippos, giraffes, lions and many other animal species on your safari. Kids will especially love DinoLand. The DINOSAUR adventure ride, Bug's Life 3-D show, Kilimanjaro Safari and Kali River Rapids are especially memorable.

Entrepreneur Michael Eisner describes, "Welcome to a kingdom of animals... real, ancient and imagined: a kingdom ruled by lions, dinosaurs and dragons; a kingdom of balance, harmony and survival; a kingdom we enter to share in the wonder, gaze at the beauty, thrill at the drama, and learn."

Disneyland California is a stark contrast from Disney World Orlando. California's park was the original design, so you'd miss out on Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot, which is Disney's futuristic world showcase park. Epcot, characterized by the "big golf ball" ride, is a must-see for anyone looking into Disney World tickets!

You can visit pavilions from eleven different countries, each with rides, entertaining shows, gifts, food, costumes and culture. Epcot is a celebration of human advancement and culture that can't be missed! Older guests often say they could spend the entire week at Epcot alone, as there is much to see, eat and do!

Buy your Disney World tickets and vacation package today to start making your child's dream come true. Where else can you see 11 different countries, dinosaurs, pirates, outer space and Indiana Jones all in one week?

You'll find that smiles never fade and the laughter never stops as Disney World Orlando. Also, with the many vacation planning options and resort guest benefits, all the stress is taken out of the trip, allowing you to just have fun.

Christian Bible Games - Christian Leadership

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Being a Christian leader involves empowering others. Like team building, empowering others involves establishing trust. Cooperation, collaboration and listening all build trust. Making yourself vulnerable, as Jesus did, builds trust. Ceding power builds trust and strengthens your team. But to whom do you give power? You need to develop radar for talent. One way to spot it is to see what people really enjoy, what renews and invigorates them. They probably have a talent for that. Support them, observe them and help them develop the character traits and skills they need. Recognize and honor them. Make heroes of them. Step out of the spotlight so that they can step in. Lead by service. Be a servant leader in the model of Jesus Christ. Bring Courage to Hearts

Persisting at a task is tough. People begin with enthusiasm and commitment, but over time their strength ebbs, their commitment wanes and they falter. That is the time when leaders need to bring courage and encouragement by recognizing victories, reaffirming values, celebrating successes. Remember these words of the Gospel: "...whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:25-28, NIV)

Offering encouragement involves addressing each member of your team as a whole person.

o The heart - Catch people doing things right and praise them. Christian leaders recognize that they do not own anything and nothing is for them. Knowledge, skill, relationships, positions, money, power and everything else they have is at their disposal only for the service of others. Given this belief, Christian leaders do not see other people's success as a threat. They are humble. When things go well, they recognize other people's contributions. When things go poorly, they ask themselves what they could have done better. Servant leaders solicit and encourage feedback and criticism so they can serve better in the future.

o The head - The head represents leaders' beliefs about their role. True leaders have a certain perspective on leadership that determines how they relate to others. The Christian leadership model is servant leadership. It begins with a sense of purpose and a clear view of a simply defined mission. For example, Walt Disney told the cast members at his theme parks to "keep them smiling." He knew that if people were smiling, Disneyland's mission would be on track. Christian leaders also have very explicit, understandable, unambiguous value statements. They rank their values so that the people they lead understand what to do if those values conflict. For instance, do you choose safety or speed if you can't choose both? Most importantly, Christian leaders model and exemplify their vision and the values.

o The hands - Hands do the work. They perform and help others perform, by coaching, planning, and evaluating performance and more. The hand of the leader is most useful when it is giving a pat on the back to recognize someone's good performance.

o The habits - The Christian leader's most important habits are prayer, solitude, scripture study, and faith in God's love and true fidelity to honest relationships.

Disney Great Vacation Homes

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Disneyland is one of the best if not the best place in the world. This is a place where you can leave all your worries and try to be young again. Disneyland is where the magic begins and it surely does!

Visiting Disneyland is a worthwhile adventure. It has 4 theme parks composed of the Magical Kingdom, EPCOT (Every people comes out tired), Disney-MGM Studio and the Animal Kingdom. It also has 2 water parks where you will surely love to take a plunge.

With these places to visit and activities in-line, traveling to the theme park is out of the question. It is an option to stay near the theme park with minimal or no travel time at all. Traveling for more than 30 minutes and meeting several traffic lanes will add to the time you spend less from the theme park.

There are recommended lodging houses near and within Disney. There are hotels and vacation homes which are appropriate for your needs and comforts. Choosing between the two, vacation home is a better answer.

There are several reasons why it is better to rent a vacation home when visiting Disneyland. One is the size of the venues. Vacation homes are bigger and wider. It can accommodate every family member, even having a personal room during the vacation plus even pets are something allowed within the house. Aside from having a personal room, you also have your own kitchen, living room, family room, laundry room and even fireplace and swimming pool.

Second is the convenience it can give you and your family. It is having a home away from home. Home routines can still be made because of the presence of different home areas.
You can cook your own meals or store groceries for snacks. You can also wash your clothes if ever you run out of it.

Third is flexibility. You can go anywhere anytime of the day. You can eat anytime, order take outs and sleep as early or as late as you want.

Fourth is the price that you have to pay for the rent. The more family member that you bring, the lesser the price you get to pay for each family member. You pay for the house and not the number of individuals staying inside the home.

The most important of all is privacy of the family. This is one thing different from staying in a hotel. You can not enjoy the place for yourself because you will still have to share it with other visitors. Some houses have their own swimming pools which you can have for yourself. You don't have to share it with anyone.

To be able to have a beautiful and comfortable Disney great vacation home make sure to reserve early. Since Disneyland is a famous place, a lot of visitors opt to stay near it. The demand for the place is high so better grab the chance by starting early.

After the deal is done with the agent or owner of the place, request for a written lease agreement. Check the contract for important details like due dates, special clauses or information. Payment and receipts should also be kept for future purposes.

Remember deadlines and due dates. It is important to note the payment dates. There are times when you fail to pay on time that your reservation is forfeited. It is always stated in the contract so comply with the dates. More strict arrangements are made on properties which are in demand and one of these is properties near Disneyland.

Be acquainted with the cancellation rule. There are agents who return your down payment whenever you cancel your reservations but more do not. Check this on your contract and be cautious. Ask prior from the agent if you can just transfer the deal than have it forfeited.

Get complete instructions earlier. Information on how to get to the house or where the key is located is usually given before you check-in. Some have written directions while others prefer to give a verbal arrangement. Be keen on these instructions to avoid any misunderstanding in future transactions.

Disney great vacation homes are the answers to picky visitors. It makes you enjoy your vacation by staying in a home. Since Disney is where the magic begins, then it will definitely not end in a Disney vacation home but rather it will just grow and multiply itself.

Anaheim, California - The Glorious Home of Disneyland

The Californian city of Anaheim celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Situated in Orange County, 28 miles southwest of Los Angeles, Anaheim is home to the world famous Disneyland, as well as the reigning Ice Hockey champions the Mighty Ducks and Major League's 2002 World Series winners, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Founded in 1857 by 50 German families, Anaheim literally means "Ana's home", named after the nearby Santa Ana River, and the German word for home - 'heim'. The families that founded the city originally hailed from Bavaria. They specialised in growing and farming grapes, as well as making wine. However, in the 1880s an insect pestilence wiped out their entire grape crop. Unable to prevent the destruction of their crop the farmers picked up the pieces and diversified into growing walnuts, lemons and - of course - oranges instead.

Benefiting from the great California climate and steady immigration, Anaheim continued to grow during the 1900s, deriving the majority of its income from farming and finance. But the city underwent its biggest expansion after Walt Disney decided to make his theme park dream a reality and base it in Anaheim. Disney opened their theme park in 1955; the ground upon which it is built consists of 160 acres of former walnut and orange groves, and you can still spot plenty of orange trees dotted throughout the park. The phenomenal success of the Disneyland Park over the last 50 years has led to the Walt Disney Company becoming Anaheim's largest employer. In addition, the city now derives most of its income directly from tourism.

In 2001, the Disneyland Park was further expanded by the addition of Disney's California Adventure. The latest park is a haven for thrill-seekers offering the nail-biting Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the super-fast California Screamin' roller-coaster rides amongst many others. In addition, the Disney Resort also boasts Downtown Disney, which includes the ESPN Zone and House of Blues amongst its attractions. At the ESPN Zone you can take in the latest sporting activities on the big screen while enjoying traditional American edibles and drinks, while The House of Blues frequently attracts big name acts to its illustrious stage.

Many companies choose to have conventions at the Anaheim Convention Center; the biggest on the West Coast of America. The obvious attraction of having Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure on the doorstep means that while taking care of business at the conference, a delegate's family can enjoy the many attractions of the park. Indeed, at many hotels in Anaheim, you will find family parties mixing business with pleasure - a fantastic solution for all involved!

Buying a Disney Vacation Club Timeshare

Having just been back from a week-long vacation at Walt Disney World near Orlando, and returned with more than we expected. My wife and I did all the WDW things and had a Saturday left over to leisurely relax. That is until we visited a kiosk on one of the properties that talked about the DVC or Disney Vacation Clubs. We arranged for a one hour tour of Saratoga Springs, a timeshare on the lake across from Downtown Disney. We had no intension of buying anything, but we did have some time to kill.

Now, first a brief word about our situation. We are semi-retired and run a web-based business out of the home. I have stock investments and three grown children, one still in college. We have seen other timeshares and agreed they are usually not good investments. Typically, they have many restrictions, are over-priced and more often than not offer properties in places you might never visit. For example, they are miles away from the beaches or main towns. Anyway, we did the tour out of morbid curiosity and the fact that it was a Disney resort.

They sent a van to our resort and drove us over to the sprawling 1000 room resort. Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The massive project composed of three-story buildings was very well designed. There were several pools, restaurants, fitness center and spa and buses and a ferry to the rest of Walt Disney World. Once we finished the tour, the representative went over the details.

The timeshare system is simple. You buy a bunch of points beginning at 150 for around $15,000, give or take a bit. Then you get a brochure of properties that are grouped by collections. The best value and most flexible choices are those in Florida and one in Hilton Head, SC. Based on the time of year and size of room, you could get anywhere from a few days to a few weeks on the property. Disney also partners with a company called Interval International to add foreign destinations to the plan. There are restrictions like a minimum of a full week and other rules for those pieces of real estate. But Disney also provides complete travel packages like escorted tours and of course, their cruise line.

So what did we decide? Well, the most endearing feature is that it is a Disney timeshare, which means they do have high standards. Even the partners must adhere to the Disney tradition of excellence. But the downsides would be familiar to most timeshare buyers. There is an annual maintenance fee that begins around $850 after your have paid the $15,000, plus closing costs. That fee can go up every year and does, even if it is as little as 5%. Then there is a booking fee from $75 to $95 for every arrangement. If you book 5 separate, 2-day stays, you would pay 5 separate booking fees.

The good news is that there are no blackout dates but you need to book far enough in advance to secure the room at the property of your choice. Another plus is that you use one agent and one phone number for all arrangements, even for restaurant and transportation reservations. The locations for most of the timeshares are good; some are four and five star resorts, but those use the most points, of course. Also, the more popular times of year require more points as well. Okay, so what's the bottom line?

You could do worse than buy a Disney timeshare. If you plan to go to Disney World on a regular basis, then this is for you. There are numerous member discounts from park fees to souvenirs and restaurants. The Saratoga Springs timeshare lasts 47 years. You can pass that onto your children, without any penalties. Or have them use the points while your still around. It's all up to you. There are also DVC timeshare re-sales available at a lower cost, but I can't endorse them because they are not connected to Disney. Do your own research online. But the discussion forums I've visited have nothing but praise for DVC and all the various properties. If you have ever considered a timeshare but were as skeptical as us, look into DVC. We are thinking of buying three, one for each child and their future children. They could still be using it 47 years from now and they would have already been paid for. And who doesn't love a Disney vacation?

Scaling Down In Disneyland

Image : http://www.flickr.com

My last teaching about greed not being just an attitude provoked several readers to request practical help on making material adjustments in their lives--for which I thank God. It isn't always easy to see the need to make any adjustments when living in the Western World, where so many are drunk with the delusion that, "He who dies with the most toys wins" (a bumper sticker you may have seen). How blessed is that day when you realize you've been living on an island of fantasy in an ocean of reality. Compared to the one-half of the world that is living on less than two dollars a day, we're living in Disneyland. (I've added a few photos at the end of this e-teaching to remind us of that.)

So what can you do to begin to obey Christ's clear command to lay up treasures not on earth but in heaven? Jesus told us exactly where to begin: "Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves purses which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven" (Luke 12:33). Jesus gave this commandment to all of His disciples, not just to one wealthy man, and it could not be more plain. Thus, the true disciple of Christ must take inventory of all he or she possesses and determine what to sell, the proceeds of which can then be laid up in heaven.

When you begin seriously to consider what to sell, you will likely find resistance within you to the whole idea. That is a depressing yet glorious moment, because you will begin to realize how much all your stuff means to you...and how little Christ means to you. At that moment of self-realization, the war begins. It is misery at first, but with each step of obedience, joy increases as you prove your love for Jesus.

Many, like myself, begin by focusing on selling the possessions that they never use or enjoy, as they are the easiest to dispossess. We have a garage sale and unload all the junk in our attics and garages, and then give the money to some worthy cause. That is good start, but God is thinking bigger. While we are selling a few old clothes to lay up a little bit of treasure in heaven, the Holy Spirit helps us see that we could sell our house, use the equity to pay cash for a smaller house, and never have to make another mortgage payment, which would enable us to lay up tens of thousands of dollars in heaven in the years ahead. Or we realize that we could stop buying a new car every year and buy one every eight years--or never buy another new car, and always buy used ones--again enabling us to lay up tens of thousands of dollars in heaven during the rest of our lives. Or we could unload those luxuries that serve no other purpose than to impress other people, swell our egos, or indulge our flesh. Or we can make a decision to delay retirement or never retire, thus eliminating the need for laying up so much treasure on earth, and thus enabling the laying up of hundreds of thousands of dollars in heaven, waiting for our eternal retirement.

So my first advice is to consider what you can do to cut your expenses as quickly and as drastically as possible, thus enabling you to lay up as much treasure as possible in heaven. Getting out of debt would certainly be high up on the list, because any periodic payment, once eliminated, can then be just as periodically laid up in heaven. If there is one indication of the greed and lack of contentment among us, consumer debt is it. As one person said, "We buy things with money we don't have for things we don't need to impress people we don't like." A bad combination indeed. Christians are instructed in Scripture to be content with what they have, even if it is only food and covering (see 1 Tim. 6:8; Heb. 13:5).

Regarding debt, I am of course generally speaking, because incurring debt for appreciating essentials, such as a home, or for gaining an education or for business capital that will be used to earn a living can be wise stewardship.

Credit card debt is the absolute worst kind of debt because the interest is so high, so eliminate it first. If your credit card is not paid off completely at the end of each monthly billing cycle, that is a likely indication that you can't control your credit-card spending. The solution is to take a pair of scissors and cut up all your credit cards. That is called plastic surgery.

Another kind of surgery that can help is televisionectomy. Advertisers pay millions to bombard us with images of happy people getting new stuff. Every commercial is designed to create discontentment. You can't be seduced by commercials you don't see. Ask your doctor if a televisionectomy is right for you.

Jesus, of course, didn't lay down any specific commandments meant to regulate our possessions. For example, He never decreed the maximum allowable square footage of the homes of His followers. But all of His followers should consider their homes in light of His commandment not to lay up treasures on earth but in heaven. When my wife and I began to wrestle with that commandment, we ultimately arrived at the conclusion that we needed to sell our home and scale down, which we did. It provided us the opportunity to eliminate debt to have more to give. In loving God and our neighbors as ourselves, the goal is to lay up as little as possible on earth and as much as possible in heaven. Anything less is short-sighted, greedy and foolish. But isn't tithing all that God expects? As I have pointed out previously, one may tithe and still lay up treasures on earth if one has an abundance. Remember, the Pharisees scrupulously tithed and went to hell, lovers of money (see Matt. 5:20; 23:15, 23, 33; Luke 18:12).

But does God expect you to sell your house to buy a smaller one? Perhaps He does, but I don't know. Each one of us must work out our own individual salvation with fear and trembling, and I can assure you that I won't be the one sitting on the throne when you stand at your judgment. So make sure your stewardship will stand God's scrutiny. I suspect that there are more ways to deceive ourselves regarding this than any other issue of obedience before God.

The important thing is to look at our homes, as well as every other material possession, in the light of God's eternal kingdom and use it accordingly. God may be leading you not to scale down to a smaller house, but to purchase a larger one--if it is for some kingdom purpose, like adopting orphans from another country, raising a big tribe of radical disciples, or facilitating church gatherings. One who does that is just as effectively "giving up his house for Christ" as the one who sells his large home, buys a smaller one, and gives the remaining equity to the poor.

There are many other possible considerations. Most folks who have owned a home in California for more than ten years know that if they sell their house and purchase a smaller one in California, they will end up paying at least twice the annual taxes they did on their larger home (all due to "Proposition 13"), effectively nullifying any overall benefit that might be accrued to the poor. If you are one of those folks who is about to sell your California home, move to another state, and retire with your equity, why not forsake or delay retirement and lay up that equity in heaven?

Some who are currently renting a home might demonstrate better stewardship if they saved money for a down payment in order to purchase a home, allowing them to build equity that can eventually be used to bless others. Generally speaking, rent money is money wasted.

Sharing your home in some fashion can be a great means to lay up more treasure in heaven, either by freely giving room to a needy person or by renting part of your home to a not-so-needy person and giving away the rental payment to charity. As I write these words, I'm ministering at a Christian community in Tennessee where many families share quite large double-wide mobile homes that they corporately own. All of their very adequate homes were pre-owned and have cost them less than $40,000 each. Their per-person investment in real estate, including homes and one-hundred beautiful acres, is less than $5,000. Amazing.

Once you've taken care of the larger issues of stewardship that will make the greatest impact on eternity, then you can focus on the smaller issues without the hypocrisy of "straining out gnats to swallow camels." Sell off everything you don't need that has any worth. EBay is waiting for you. (Not too long ago, some friends sold a pair of old Japanese binoculars, which they thought was junk, for $600 on eBay. That money went to four missionaries.) Then adjust your lifestyle. There are zillions of ways to live more modestly and frugally that will enable you to lay up more treasures in heaven, from eating less and eating out less (to know if you've been wasting money on food, just check your wasteline!), to turning down the thermostat, to ignoring fashion, to driving a smaller, more gas-efficient vehicle, to keeping that old furniture another five years, to not replacing the dog that died. Applying the principles I've outlined in this article enables our family to live on half of what we did six years ago. We now have so much more to give.

I must add that one reader, who hates to see God's money wasted, has requested that I say something about giving intelligently, lest all my efforts at motivating people to scale down be wasted. So I'm saying it. Give intelligently. Don't waste God's money supporting ministries that promote the American gospel or churches that are social clubs sanctified by a few scriptures. Lay up treasures in heaven by supporting those who are proclaiming truth, or those who are helping the poor (Matt. 25:31-46 is great guide). There are so many churches and ministries that qualify. The Holy Spirit will help you to give strategically and fruitfully.

Money Saving Tips To A Magical Disneyland Trip

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Is it not everybody's dream to go to Disneyland and pose with Mickey?
As they, Christmas is really for the kids, and those who are kids at heart. (Guilty of that!) And one of the top hotspots at this time of the year for the young at heart is the infamous Disneyland.

Childhood escapade

My mom took me there when I was 8 years old. Old enough to remember the trip but still young enough to be obedient to not let go of her hand so I won't be lost in the crowd. Went there after Thanksgiving. Disneyland was like a real-life child's dreamland. Back then,I felt it was larger than life, like a big and wide playground with all the castles and rides and that the cartoon characters were my playmates.

Tipoffs

Not only are airfares costly these days, more so if you're thinking of going to Disneyland outside U.S. Airfares don't come in a few bucks especially if you have a couple of kids to take with you. Also, you have to allot for souvenirs, food and and as well as hotel accommodations. Here are money saving tips to make your trip to the big D hassle-free and budget-friendly.

1. Take advantage of their vacation packages

Disneyland's vacation packages offer a great ease to the stress of how can you actually go to Disneyland. All you need is fill out their online booking form.

2. Plan ahead

Now, operative word here is ahead. A month is a safe time frame. This gives you time to make the necessary arrangements, like for you to file a leave at work or at school for your kids, or to let your relatives know of your vacation. This gives time to also make adjustments for your monthly payments such as mortgage, electricity, and home bills and
your credit card bills. Ultimately, this will give you time to save money for the most-awaited trip.

3. Call your travel agent, early

This makes sense if you're unsure of how to navigate Disneyland's online booking site. Again, a month's time is the safest.

4. Go with the rush

They have lower rates during peak seasons. I know reverse psychology tells us to go off-season. But in this case, the Disneyland amusement parks and the partner hotels do offer more affordable rates, more so for families and big groups during peak season. Just take note of the one month's notice.

Money well spent

After all the fuss, every dollar that you'll be spending will be worth it. Your kids will not be the only ones who'll be having the time of their lives but you'll enjoy the most as well. You'll wear the mickey hats and scream at the rides. Most of all, with these money saving tips, you'll not worry of an empty wallet after going to the place dubbed as the happiest place on earth.

Budget Disneyland Vacation - Vacation Planning on a Budget

There are two things to consider when planning a vacation: whether or not your family will have fun, and whether or not you have the budget for it. If your family is planning to go to Disneyland, you are assured of a fun and exciting vacation trip. However, can you afford it? Going to Disneyland is not that affordable. But you wouldn't want to be wasting your money on useless and unnecessary things either.

Careful planning is the key to a successful and great trip, while maintaining your budget. Do your research. Try the packages offered by Disney; it will surely save you a great deal of money. Hotel accommodations and parking fees take the biggest hit on your wallet. So as much as possible, stay in hotels with close proximity to the theme park and don't bring a car. It saves you from paying the parking fee and gas. Instead, go for a fifteen-minute walk to the Disney World. This will serve as great exercise for you.

The prices of food and beverages in Disneyland are ridiculously ballooned twice or thrice its normal price. Since eating and dining in Disneyland can be expensive, try bringing your own food and water. Try eating only once while in the theme park to save money.

Another thing to look out for is Disney's Photo Pass. Disney photographers are everywhere. They will gladly take photos of you with your favorite Disney characters. And sure, the photos are great, they are great souvenirs and memorabilia of your Disney Trip. But then you look at the price, which is even more expensive than your dining plan. It'll be better to bring your own camera, take photos of yourself, or give your camera to any Disney Photographer and have your picture taken for free.

Walt Disney World Holidays - Tips For the Best Way to Plan a Disney Vacation at Christmas

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Do you have a visit to Walt Disney World planned for this Christmas season? Are you visiting during the week before Christmas and New Years? If so, then this article is for you. Having enjoyed several Walt Disney World holidays in late December, my family has found that the Christmas/New Year's holidays at Disney can be magical, crazy, crowded, and if you do some careful planning, very, very fun.

At no other time of the year, is careful planning as important as it is during the Holiday Season. So my motto for the best way to plan a Disney vacation is always to plan, plan, and plan some more. While there are a lot of things to consider during a Christmas visit to Disney World, in our years of having visited during the week between Christmas and New Years, there are two very important things that we have found you definitely need to keep in mind...and plan for.

First is the weather. Let me just say that Florida is not ALWAYS sunny and hot. In fact, traveling at any point during the winter months can provide you with a very cold...and uncomfortable...surprise, if you don't check ahead. We have visited during the winter and been blessed with sunny days, temps in the 70s, little humidity...weather that is just delightful.

BUT, we have also had days where the temperatures never made it out of the 50s during the day, and were in the low 30s at night and in the mornings. And if you combine this with some humidity/dampness and a bit of wind...well it's actually winter-coat wearing weather!

So if an affordable Disney family vacation is your goal, then check the weather forecast before you leave home. If you need warm clothes, and did not pack them, you do NOT want to pay Disney park prices for sweaters, scarves and gloves.

The second thing to consider when planning a trip during the week between Christmas and New Year's, is that this is THE busiest week of the year for the Disney parks. It is typical for one or more of the parks to actually close for periods of time, during several days during this week. Disney typically does a staggered type of closing schedule where the parks are first closed to non-Disney resort guests, then to Disney guests who have not already been to that park earlier in the day, and finally, to everyone.

So keep this in mind, especially if you are not staying on Disney property: go early to make sure you get into the park of your choice. Have a plan to visit your most important must-dos (especially those that are very popular) first thing, and make very good use of Fast-Passes. Expect the big attractions to have all Fast-Passes gone for the day by lunch, and to have lines of several hours. Be flexible, and go with the flow. And have a sense of humor.

If you decide to leave any of the parks, make certain that you can live without necessarily getting back in. While crowds often lessen somewhat in the evenings, on nights like New Years Eve, that is not likely to happen. If you plan to ring in the New Year in one of the parks, then expect to make a very long day of it.

Having said all of this, the holiday season at Disney World is my family's favorite time of year. It can be a magical and wonderful way to create family memories....just be prepared!

Top Vacation Spots in the United States

Image : http://www.flickr.com

If your looking for the top vacation spots in the united states, you'll generally find that they are located near the coasts. There are literally hundreds of places to choose from, but here are some of the top places that I have been to.

New Jersey beaches

New jersey has some of the finest beaches on the east coast of the united states. From the north eastern tip of Sandy hook, with old military forts and majestic views of the Manhattan skyline to the pizza filled aroma of Seaside heights, there are plenty of beaches to choose from to take your family. One place I recommend is Wildwood where there are two boardwalks filled with rides and games for your kids and loved ones. You can find literally hundreds of low cost hotels and motels to choose from, and most are located just a short walk from all the attractions.

Naples, Florida

Naples Florida is located on the southwestern edge of the florida coast. With world renowned architecture and old style building design, there is plenty of things for you to do in Naples. One leading attraction of this vacation destination is 5th ave district, where you can shop at some of the finest stores in Florida. In the spring, the weather is perfect and you can watch the sunset from the famous 2nd ave. pier. Every sunset is more majestic then the last, and you'll be sure to enjoy plenty of night time activities as well.

Top spots in San Diego, California

San Diego has been widely regarded as one of the top vacation spots in the United States. With its warm weather year round, and wide variety of activities from sea world to amusement parks, its sure to be a winner with your whole family. Another major attraction you can visit is the San Diego zoo. Some of the highlights of the zoo include the flamingo lagoon, the polar bear plunge and elephant mesa. Parking at the zoo is relatively cheap and there are a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.

Fun in New York city

By far one of the top vacation spots in the U.S. Would have to be New York City. There is so much to do in New York that its hard to list everything. You could visit the Statue of liberty, take a ride on a speedboat, or view the city from the air with a helicopter tour. You can find virtually any type of cuisine out there, at any time of the day or night, and be able to do almost anything your heart desires.
